Larry Felder's Saturday Afternoon Acrylic Pour Class presented by Highlands Art League
Saturday, November 30, 2024 (2:00 PM - 4:00 PM) (EST)
Description
Fluid art is a form of abstract painting using modified acrylic paint. No need for a brush. Gravity moves the paint by pouring, tipping, spinning, and dripping it onto your canvas. It’s a lot of fun and a great way to spark your creative energy! Designed for beginners, each class will cover a different technique –– starting with the easiest and continuing through to the most challenging.
This is an ongoing class so over time we’ll explore all the popular techniques, such as dirty pours, flip-cup pours, swiping, and many more. During your first class, after a demonstration by the instructor, participants will mix their paint colors and pour their one-of-a-kind creation on a 12” x 12” stretched canvas while other’s watch and learn.
You’ll be amazed at what everyone can create in such a short time. We’ve created a special Acrylic Pour Classroom in the Art Center with two paint stations, sinks for cleaning, tools and supplies, and racks for drying canvases.
Each student will complete one finished painting per class and pick up that canvas the following week after it has dried.
IMPORTANT: These are messy techniques so we recommend wearing your painting clothes and old shoes. Please bring work gloves and smock/apron/work shirt to each class.
